New York Daily News Running time: 105 mins. Unrated: Mature themes, sexuality. In Spanish with English subtitles. At Landmark Sunshine. “Viva amor! A light footed comedy that suggest that love is just around the corner.” Taking a giddily nonjudgmental approach to spontaneous gay sex, male and female prostitution, extortion and other vices, the writing-directing team of Yolanda Garcia Serrano and Juan Luis Iborra have crafted a light-footed comedy that suggests that for even the most desperate, love is just around the corner. Most of the match-ups are farcical, some sincere, and one near-tragic: an affluent middle-aged woman hires a young male stud for sex and discovers afterward that he may be her long-lost son.
But all's well that ends well, and "Km. 0" (the title refers to the center of town)
ends with the entire cast singing in the rain. Viva amor! |
